Today I started some new seeds for some miscellaneous other ones that are nice to start, but not always necessary. I just hope I didn't start them too early. A couple that I am not sure about are the watermelon and the cantaloupe as they are more "viney" than the Summer Squashes. I put the new seeds on a heat pad that I had the peppers and tomatoes on which seemed to help them and had the air heater was set to 75 degrees F. So we will see it it will help the new seeds.
I moved the tomatoes and peppers to bigger peat pots. Found I put a few more seeds in each pot than I thought. I had some with 4 or 5 sprouts in them. So I was able to break them apart and put them into the new pots. The sweet peppers did not make it this year, Not sure if it is the seeds or some dry periods I had with the seeds. I am going to keep them for one more year to see if they will work. I have lowered the air temp heater to 73, to help accumulate them to the air temp when we plant outdoors. I will probably lower it another 2 degree in about a week or so. Here is what I have for pots:
Count | Name | Notes |
---|---|---|
2 | Roma | They were pretty small but look viable. Hopefully they will pop up. |
4 | Opalka | |
7 | Better Boy | These grew like wild fire, almost all of them came up. |
5 | Delicious | These also grew well |
5 | Jelapeno | Only 2 of the 4 pots came up. One was by its self. |
As you can see I have a few extras that I might be able to give away. We will see who needs them.
