Was finally able to get out and plant some cold weather plants. i have been putting it off for a couple weeks and finally had time to work on it. I went and bought a new wine barrel as the one we were using for spices fell apart. I was able to get most of the dirt and replace it with the new one. I filled both barrels with plants. The only ones I didn't was the broccoli which I ended up putting in the trellis garden.
I kind of messed up though, I forgot that I had kohlrabi in there as well. When ended up in with the lettuce mixes. Which kind of sucks. I might go out and try putting some seed down for the kohlrabi, either in the trellis or the long garden. Just in case what I transplanted doesn't come back up. Then again maybe I wait until closer to fall, which might be a better option.
I also got the hoses out. I don't think we will have another frost this season until this fall. Given the changes in the climate we were moved down a zone. So it we will have a bit longer growing season. I want to say the last frost was closer to the end of March, so far. I will see what the rest of the season brings. Hoping to be more on top of watering.
