Getting the Garden Started 2011...

Submitted by wafy on

Today I started my garden. Figured out what I want to plant and picked up a starter tray to start some of them. From what I can research the estimated last frost date for this year is 04-30, we will see how correct they are. I started most of the plants and held back a couple to start in a couple weeks. Most of what I am planting I will pretty much fit in where I had last year, but a couple vine plants may be a problem as they were last year.  I am going to try and adding second garden for viney plants that can't be taught to go vertical, but still waiting for the snow to go away and stay away. I am going to add another book to the site for keeping track of frost dates and plants that I plant. I will try and keep you updated on this.

This spring will be relatively busy, I am going to need to strip and paint the garage, fix my "patio" overhang off the garage and need to split some root balls. Hopefully in a couple weeks things will start to warm up and I will be taking some time off and getting a few of these things either completed or at least started. I want to get the garage at least stripped before my plants start popping up. We shall see how productive I can be.

As for painting projects I have most of the Gargantuan Squigoth at least started, but been a bit lazy the last few weeks. I hope to get most of it done before the snow is gone. Other projects have been put on hold due to a pretty cold basement, but hopefully some wood projects will started back up too.
