The Garage Before...

Submitted by wafy on

Well as I expained before I am looking to replace my garage. Yesterday I went and took some pictures of the garage "before" everything gets demolished and then rebuilt. I took a few pictures of the outside and a few of the inside, as you can see there were a few things that needed work.

Here are some outside views, as you can see it needed some paint for sure and a few boards needed to be replaced. In this first picture you will see some latis on the ground, that was the roof of the overhang. It looked really nice, but needed to be taken down during the winter as snow weighted it down a lot. Unfortunately latis doesn't stay together very well, I would avoid if possible.

Here is a wider view you can see my compose bins and the wall that I want to keep.

Here are some views of the other sides

In this next picture you can see a pink line in the grass, this is going to be the added area of the end building.

As you can see in this next picture I had a small garden in the back, I already moved some board stones that were there. The ones that were left were a bit big for me to carry.

Here is some pictures on the insides. I took some other pictures but these are the highlights. This first one show the innovation of the previous occupents they used some different types of wood boxes for shelving. Worked really good.

Here is where I stored most of my tools like shovels and rakes.

Here are some of the things that I would need to fix on the garage to make it better. The first is the outdoor outlet hole. In this hole they had an extension cord for the pond. This will be fixed by an actual outside outlet when the new garage is built. As you can see there is some water damage.

Here is a bad corner, many of the vertical trim were in bad shape all around the garage. This is some of the things I would need to replace if I would just fix what I had.

As you can see there is some work that would need to happen to fix it up. But, I think money would have been better spent just replacing and enlarging the structure. We shall see if I am right.
