20x30 Picture Frame

Problem: Wanted to show case some pictures I took on our last trip and ordered some prints that were 20x30 which was the biggest the provider had. When I got them and went to look for frames I could not find any that I liked at that size. The custom frames seemed to expensive for something that I could do myself.

Solution: I had most of the equipment to make a frame and had some left over plexiglass and some thin boards for the backing. I wanted something in a similar style as my windows in my house. So I came up with the attached design.

Result: Need a router table as with out one it started to route the sides. It is better to have the plexiglass pre-cut and cutting a straight line is difficult. Ended up spending about the same as some of the other premade frames in the stores but in a color and style that I wanted. I also added rubber feet to the back as the screen latches that I used stuck out too much. I ended up using a wire mount.
