Project Week Day 5

Submitted by wafy on

After another sore day of working in the garden, I can say that I am almost done for now. Just have one small location yet to finish and everything will be cleaned up for winter. I think I am going to wait on splitting the root balls until spring unless I get some inspiration to do it before hand. Was working so hard today that I ripped my jeans and in a semi approrate place, my knee.

Project Week Day 4

Submitted by wafy on

A bit of a late post I got more done yesterday for Day 4 of my project week. I was able to get about a third of the big garden done and the plants around the pond trimmed or cut down. In the part of the garden that I worked I might try and spray some round up on a few weeks and some plants that decided to spread a bit. I am going to also look at breaking up some root balls to shrink some of the plants that have gotten too big for the spot that they are at.

Project Week Day 3

Well today turned out to be a flop. It's amazing how easy it is to do nothing. So many projects that I should work on and the fact that I am on vacation seems to set the mind that I can goof off. Which I did, kind of, did get a call from work to clarify a few things. So it I didn't do absolutely nothing. The next few days might be a bit more hectic so the updates might be later. But I am hoping to get more done tomorrow. Procrastination is always fun until the deadline hits.

Project Week Day 2

Well day two was still pretty productive. Didn't get as much done as I had hoped but not bad for doing it on my own. Today I worked on cutting down my flower gardens. I have a number of perennials, mainly Hostas and a few lilies on the side of the house and garage. The main point of cutting them down was to avoid having to clean them up in the spring like I did this past spring. Granted I bought the house in the winter and the previous owner was not able to do much in that area, but it was still a pain to deal with.

Project Week Day 1

Well I decided to take a week off from work. To mainly work on the yard and a few other miscellaneous projects I have either started and need to do. I hoped to have an entry every day this week with some progress or completed project to show you. I decided today to go up and get some supplies so that laziness doesn't take hold, trying to learn to avoid those project deathtraps. (Though hopefully some family will come over and help so that will be less likely to set in.)

Having what you need for a project...

Submitted by wafy on

Well I am realizing that having all of your tools and materials for a project is best to have all of it at once. It is tough to continue a project if you don't have everything, even if you only have some of it and start it. You will want to get the rest very soon, or you keep putting it off until inspiration comes back and you decide to get the rest.

Getting a Second Opinion

Well went and played some 40k. Lost at 1000 points, with a Ork list of high mobility. Two vehicles, a truck with nobs and warboss, the other a battlewagon full of 'ard boyz. No foot sloggers, against Black Templar army, I just needed some more numbers  I might have made it across the board with the Tamplar's shooting. I got some input on the Option 2 plan for a frame.

Game Boards

Submitted by wafy on

Well I started my first wood project. Have some details up under the gaming menu item. Going to attempt to create a modular game board that is portable enough to put in the back of my car, so I can use it at the game store in Waseca. Also, stable enough to be put on one 30"x8' table. I have a plan and one experiment done this last Wednesday. It didn't work as well as I hoped. Went and bought what I need to start plan 2, hope to have something up maybe next weekend, to let you know if it worked or not.

Starting Again

Here I am again, trying to start a blog on the projects I do. Had a little problem with an upgrade and didn't backup everything that should have been backed up. Looking into a more reasonable backup solution, but been busy with trying to get the Warhammer 40k models painted for Gencon a couple weeks ago. That I despite not having cable or a TV signal I seem to be still setting in front of the TV a lot. Also been working a on a goal of losing about 20 lbs by Gencon next year, looking to go in costume, we shall see how well that will work.
