Well it is Springtime...

Submitted by wafy on

It is that time again, time for spring. It is that time of year where all of a sudden I have this feeling of a need to do stuff outside. I know it is crazy, but since I have bought a house there has been something outside that I have wanted to get done in one form or another. This year I have to admit I am as closer to actually getting a few things done, well at least started. I was able to get the house painted toward the end of last year, but I still have a garage that need some TLC.

Twin Terrors 2012

Submitted by wafy on

Went to Duluth again yesterday and participated in the LakeSWATT Twins Terror Tournament with a gentleman that is part of a team for the Adapticon team tounament. Things went pretty well considering we had almost nothing that would combate flyers. We went 1-1-1 for the tournament and apparently we were lovable enough to get the sportsmanship score. We played against a Dark Angel, Dark Eldar and a Necron/Tyrand armies. Over all we had some fun, and I attached a few pictures of some starts of games.

Been a bit busy...

It is a amazing how busy I can get when I have a local gaming store that supports miniatures. Mankato has finally gotten a store worth writing about. Unfortunately they have been keeping me busy with a new miniatures game and a escalation league to make my build, paint and play, to keep me from writing. This new stores name is The Dork Den. It is ran by a couple of great guys that are pretty into gaming and one that does have some management experience and used to work with long ago. They have been open since the beginning of July and so far seem to be doing pretty good.

Started the Pond 2012

Submitted by wafy on

Finally was able to get the pond going. Though I probably could have gotten it started about two months ago. I keep kicking myself not doing a lot of this in April. The weather was too nice, but it woud have been good to get a lot of these outside chores done.Oh well it is done now and things should still work out. The pond was drained and cleaned, though probably not as through has last year. It was enough to get any visible algae off and things seem to go smoother that last year as well. Not as many stopped to clean out the intake on the pump.

Garden Started and other stuff

Submitted by wafy on

Actually started my vegetable garden a little earlier this year. From the looks of what the seed packages say it will not be until about July before I see any fuits of my labors. I really need to get a room setup for starting plants. That will have to wait though I need to get some outside projects completed before for the end of the summer.

Warhammer 40k Tournament at Dungeon's End

Submitted by wafy on

Had a pretty good tournament at Dungeon's End in Duluth. It was their first 40k tournament and it went very smooth. I didn't do too bad battle wise, I went 1-1-1. The first game was against Chaos Marines, with a player that hasn't played in about a year. I did surprisingly well against him and my deftkopters took out all the vehicles and the lootas at least wrecked another vehicle. The nobs and the boyz took care of most of the rest. We both took heavy causalities, but in the end I beat him by kill points.

2 Down 28 more to go....

Submitted by wafy on

It is that time of year again, down two year and less than 28 more to go until the house is mine free and clear. This last year I have expanded the site a little more, in attempts to journal some home and other projects. This are still good, but should have gotten a few other outside projects done. I definitely need to do some outside painting, both on the house and on the garage. The garage also needs some tender loving care as well. In just 2 years things already need some work. The house I have is rather old, so it is somewhat expected, but a few decisions need to be made also.

Warhammer 40k Tournament in Duluth

Submitted by wafy on

This last weekend I went to another tournament in Duluth at Dragon Port Games and Comics. Didn't do very good, but the battles were close and got a few compliments on my models. Overall I had 2 losses and 1 draw.

First game was against Grey Knights, Pretty well put together army, but didn't get to see my favorite model (Dread Knight) though. Lost in that game, but held up better than I thought.

Project Week Fall 2011: Day 5

Submitted by wafy on

Ready for winter to come. Let the snow and cold come any day now. I got pump put away and put in with the water lillies. I also got a overhang roof removed so I don't have to worry about snow build up on there. I also put the hoses in the garage which should help, but I might still try to bring them in inside. For the most part everything is cleaned up and/or put away.  Still working on other projects, but for the most part the project week has come to an end and hopefully I can try and make this twice a year. One in the fall and one in the spring.
