I broke down and bought a second space heater for the coal room. It is enough to stabilize the room to about 72 degrees currently, which should be enough for the peppers. I do have some play with the temperature between the two heaters. So I moved the tomato and peppers back down to the room and they are already looking to be close to sprouting in the next day or so.

While I was shopping for seeds I decided to start some onions. I started 3 varieties, hopefully the work for my region. Doing the research I need long day for my area, at least one of the varieties lists as a short day onion. Not sure exactly what that means, but we will find out this summer I am sure. Also trying a version of green onions as well. I have tried in the past by direct seeding and they never seem to take. Or if they do they get pulled by something or someone. Hopefully starting them early and indoors might make for a better harvest.

For the onions I reused some plastic pots that my partner had and wasn't using. Figured given I just sprinkled the seeds in, I am not looking to move them until I plan to put them outdoors. The plastic should be good enough. Not sure if I will go that route with the tomatoes, peppers or other starters, but it made sense with the onions.
