Getting the last of it.

Well I was able to make use of the garage this past winter and have a gravel driveway that I didn't shovel as much as I should have I only almost got stuck once. Things are coming together at last last week the contractor came out and got the trim around the door and the windows completed and looks really nice as you can see below. Also the wood for the pergola came in last week as well. We has a small accident with a semi metal saw horse. Luckily no one got hurt. I ended up moving the board to a drier location as it rained most of the rest of the week.

A couple days ago the contractor came back out and put up the pergola, which to me just look awesome. I can't say much more than that, over all it looks great. Now if only I can get the rest of the back yard in shape it will not look out of place. I have a few pictures of the pergola below.

Talking to the contractor today it sounds like the masons are coming out later this week or beginning of next to work on the driveway. Which is the last of the major contractor related pieces I have yet. There is also some weather stripping for the garage that needs to be done, but minor compared to the driveway. The contractor painted out an outline of where things will go which he was a bit off. The masons got a little overboard with the gravel when they put it down. So I am hoping that they will clean more of that up. I staked out where I wanted the driveway to be so hopefully everyone understands where I need it to go. Once that is all done I will know more where I stand on getting the north and west side finished.

I started to clean up the yard a bit from this whole thing. As I have stated before I have a lot of work ahead of me. Once the driveway is done and every one is done playing in my yard. I should be able to figure out where I need to go next for things. I plan to put in a raised garden on the west side. Looking at how much of a hill there is for the north side I am also considering putting in a retaining wall in there as well, but I need to play wait and see on other things first. I might just till up the north side yet to even things out and it may flatten out for the side of the garage as well. We will see.

Here are some pictures of the inside of the garage after the trim is added. As you can see I have put some bigger stuff in there and it has been a muddy spring already as you can see from my tire tracks.

Here are a few pictures of the pergola. Never mind the mess, started to tear apart the pond for maintenance and some modifications.
