Slab Issues

Submitted by wafy on

As I showed in the last entry the form for the garage's slab. Luckily there was some rain so we were able to fix a minor yet annoying problem. The form if pour would have been about 4-5 inches to far forward in at least one corner. The issue for me was that it did not line up with the old sidewalk that was going to be rebuilt and made seem too close to the house. Thanks to a great contractor, I expressed my concerns with it and let him know what I saw. He came out last night and took a look at what I was trying to explain to him. He agreed that it should be moved back to line up with the sidewalk. We also figured out that the side by the house was a couple inches longer than the other side.

So today he was kind enough to come out a fix the problem. Instead of moving the form back he kind of shorted the garage by about 2 inches and squared up the other side. Which for me is good enough and he said we might be able to make some of it up. It lined things up to the sidewalk, and to top it off he added another conduit that is a bit farther into the future building. Now to wait for some better weather so they can pour the concrete and get the rest of building built.

Here is a closer look at the front line up with what is left of the side walk.

Here is what the front line looks now.
